Varun Chaudhary Pledges to Put Nepali Cinema on the World Map

Nepal: Varun Chaudhary, Director of Chaudhary Group and Managing Director of CG Corp Global, expressed his determination to elevate the Nepali film industry to the international market during his speech at the LG Cine Circle Award ceremony. The event, hosted by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, took place last Friday at the prestigious Army Officers Club in Kathmandu.

Chaudhary emphasized the multifaceted nature of movies, stating that they not only provide entertainment but also serve as a source of knowledge and inspiration. He highlighted the value of learning through films, describing them as an open book that offers insights into various aspects of life. In a lighthearted manner, he humorously recited a Hindi dialogue, " kavi kavi jitneke liye, kuch harn bhi padta hai, aur harkar jitne waleko bazigar kahete hai," to illustrate the significance of persistence and resilience within the film industry.

Acknowledging the competitive nature of the industry, Chaudhary noted that while one person receives an award among the countless filmmakers, many others may not. He encouraged aspiring artists to approach their work with the mindset of an award-winning individual, urging them to strive for success regardless of recognition. Reflecting on personal experiences, he emphasized the importance of learning from failures and using them as stepping stones towards achieving future triumphs. Chaudhary eloquently stated, "Losing is not when you fall down, it's when you refuse to get up," underscoring the significance of perseverance and resilience.

Varun Chaudhary, the youngest son of renowned Nepali industrialist Vinod Chaudhary, has actively supported the LG Cine Circle Award for the past seven years, demonstrating his commitment to the film industry. The recent event marked the resumption of the awards, which had been postponed for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Distinguished personalities, including Ranju Jha, Anuradha Koirala, Vasundhara Bhusal, Chaitya Devi, Nayak Pradeep Khadka, and Paul Shah, along with other notable actors, actresses, film directors, and individuals from diverse fields, graced the occasion. Industrialists, businessmen, and other prominent figures also attended the event.

During the ceremony, Chaudhary presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Makeupman Santu Tamang and Bhanse Jethadai, acknowledging their significant contributions to the film industry. Furthermore, this year's Best Actor and Best Actress awards were bestowed upon Harivansh Acharya and Keki Adhikari, respectively. Pradeep Khadka and Diya Maske received the Critics Award from Varun Chaudhary himself.

Varun Chaudhary's vision to promote the Nepali film industry globally has the potential to enhance the country's cinematic presence on the international stage. With his unwavering commitment and support, the industry may embark on a new era of growth and recognition, captivating audiences worldwide.
