All corruption files should be opened and the culprits should be punished: Rabi Lamichhane

Kathmandu: National Independent Party Chairman and party leader Rabi Lamichhane has denied that the vote received by his party was interpreted as a vote of disappointment.

Addressing the ongoing meeting of the House of Representatives with the commencement of the session of the Federal Parliament, he, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, claimed that the National Independent Party is not a vote of despair but a vote of hope.

'There is an
accusation against us. The vote we got is called the vote of disappointment. But no, the vote we got is of hope,' he said in the meeting.

Informing that they will raise a strong voice in favor of people's livelihood, he asked the opposition parties to act according to the people's wishes and play their role accordingly.

He urged all parties and parliamentarians to stand in favor of anti-corruption campaign, saying that corruption files should be opened and action should be taken ruthlessly.

Urging everyone not to create any obstacles to free the corrupt or prevent them from taking action, he promised that he and his MPs will not get involved in any irregularities or scandals.

At the same time, he has also said that if his party does not work according to the people's expectations or is unable to do so, the government and the power will not sit back. He said that if any leader of his party does something wrong, he will not protect them.
