Transfer of Nepal's assistance to Afghanistan

The Government of Nepal has handed over aid to Afghanistan, which is facing a humanitarian crisis. A delegation led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrived in Afghanistan on Sunday and handed over aid to Kabul.

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Seva Lamsal, the Nepali delegation handed over the assistance to UN Under-Secretary-General for Human Rights and Humanitarian and Development Coordinator for Afghanistan Ramiz Al-Qabroob at Kabul International Airport on Sunday.

This information has been given from the Twitter handle of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with some pictures of the handover of aid on Sunday afternoon. The Nepali government had left Kabul, Afghanistan on Sunday morning on a 10-tonne plane carrying medicine, clothes and other supplies.

According to Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka, the Nepali team will return to Kabul International Airport after handing over the supplies to the UN team.

Reports have surfaced that the world's biggest humanitarian crisis has erupted in Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power in August. A humanitarian crisis has erupted in Afghanistan as international aid has been cut off since the Taliban came to power.

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) says Afghanistan is facing a major hunger problem this winter. The WFP also warns that more than 20 million people will suffer from hunger.
