America: A new date
has been set for the popular Grammy Awards, which will be held on January 31. The
64th edition of the Grammys will be held in Las Vegas
on April 3, as the Corona
infection is spreading rapidly.
Earlier, nominees
Justin Bieber, Billy Ellis and Olivia Rodrigo were nominated for the award in Los Angeles. The awards
ceremony will now be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
"We
are very excited to have Grammy for the first time in Las Vegas," said Harvey Mason, chief
executive officer of the recording academy.
This is not
the first time that programs have had to be moved due to the Kovid epidemic. Film
and Television Critics Awards and Producers Guild Awards have also moved the
program to another date.
The Sundance Film Festival is also being held
virtually this week. The Oscars will be presented a week after the Grammys. The
Oscars have not yet moved to March 27.
