Nepal : The
contribution of director Tulasi Ghimire in Nepali film is incomparable. Without
his name, Nepali film would be incomplete and incomplete. Nepali film, which
has gone through a miserable situation, was given life by his arrival.
He changed
the face of Nepali film by spreading original stories in films like 'Kusume
Rumal, Chino, Lahure,
Dakshina, Anyaay, Blidan, Dewata, Drpan Chhaya.
As many
people know, Nepal
is not the birth place of Tulsi Ghimire. He was born in Kalimpong, Darjeeling. He has been
interested in films since childhood and was a big fan of superstar Raj Kapoor. Eventually
he reached Bombay
(Mumbai) with the dream of becoming like Raj Kapoor. While learning editing
there, Guru gave him Guru Dakshina to make 10 Nepali films.
Tulsi
Ghimire, who came to Nepal
following the word of Guru, made his film 'Flute' for the first time in 1981. After
this, he could never leave Nepal
and Nepali film. However, Tulsi Ghimire, who has made such a great contribution
to the Nepali film industry, does not have Nepali citizenship. He tried to get
Nepali citizenship but was not heard. But she never gave up.
When asked
about citizenship in a recent television program, he said that he had never
felt any embarrassment while living in Nepal. However, he still wants to
get honorable citizenship. Tulsi Ghimire says that birth place (India) and work place (Nepal) are very
close to his feelings and cannot choose between the two.
He says, ‘birth
place and work place are very close to my feelings. My motherland is India. And, my
mother is the one I put above God. My work place (Nepal) is my mother's homeland. No
one can reach the level of my feelings connected with my birth place and my mother
birth place.'
Tulsi also
recalled that he once dreamed of winning an Oscar with Nepali citizenship.
