Nepal: Twenty films have been selected from the short film
competition against caste discrimination announced by the Film Director's Guild of Nepal in collaboration with the Ministry of Law, Justice
and Parliamentary Affairs and UNDP.

Parajuli, general secretary of the society of directors, said that the six-member
judging panel selected 20 short films on the subject of caste discrimination
and abolition.
Among the
judges were Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary
Affairs Phanindra Gautam, artist Nir Shah, General Secretary of Film Directors
Society Parajuli, artist Laxmi Bardewa, A2Z Project Manager Vasant Adhikari and
Chief Information Officer of UNDP Kamal Raj Sigdel. They have selected 20 films
out of 56 received.
The
selected films include Vashisht Pradhan's' The Basket ', Surendra Prajapati's' Shunya',
Sudan Singh Thakuri's' Sem ', Sarana Shrestha's', Balkrishna Vanshi's' Pumawangu
Mhagas', Half Time Creation's' Pida', Randhir Shrestha's' Pari ', Rajesh
Shrestha's' New'. Jutta ', Atin Shrestha's' I am Nepali ', Safu's' I am myself ',
Ashish Sharma Pangeni's' A B C D ', Chhinna Masta Films' 'I am not human', Nagendra
Rai's 'He is my god', Marion Rajbhandari's 'Ganga', Santosh Sarkar's 'Foo', Kavyalaya
Production's 'Chet', Vinod Pudasaini's 'Bhagwan Sabaiko', Prateek Singh & Tim's
'Battle Against Discrimination', Sharma Creation's 'Achhop' and Prakash Subba's
'Flower'.
The film
will be aired on various social media for two weeks. The winner will be
announced based on the audience and feedback of the film and the decision of
the judges. The score will be 50 percent and 50 percent will be provided by the
judges. The first place
film will get Rs 200,000, second place will get Rs 150,000 and third place will
get Rs 50,000.
